Varanasi Yatra ~ Part 1
My inner child has been yearning for an adventurous Yatra up north and it finally happened in a blink of an eye.
We just needed the perfect timing and good fortune to seek the dharshan of Shiva. I was extremely fortunate to have our Yatra family quickly nod yes and dive into this immense experience of a lifetime.
We got our confirmed tickets quickly and out of nowhere as if Shiva wanted us to be there in Varanasi.
As we arrived late in the night of full moon, we were drawn into having a Dharshan of Viswanathar the very next day (though it was initially planned to rest the very next day after 36 hours of travel).
We started exploring Varanasi, the beautiful city of ghats, every single day in scorching 40+ heat. We had to handle challenges that were thrown in our way with caution, patience and adaptability. Although a few of us faced some health issues in the middle, we were able to take some time to rejuvenate and didn’t miss out on the powerful energy of Varanasi.
The return journey was more adventurous than we ever could have expected. The train arrived about half an hour early, and before we could be happy about it, our patience was tested when our reserved compartment was full of people with their unreserved tickets. We could hardly get into the train as it was full of people upto the doorway. Our crew was able to step up, clearing the space for a few others too to get into their reserved seats. It turned out to be a challenging learning experience of travelling in the Indian railways. There is always a lot to learn and experience, testing the endurance, patience and strength that each one of us possesses.
