About Us

Siva Rathna began with a desire to share traditional yoga practices while serving humanity.  Our first program was held in Bali in the summer of 2015 and since then we have traveled the world sharing yoga, meditation, and Vedic mantra and ritual.  Our yoga programs support our service activities, all money generated from programming is given to support children, women, the elderly and the environment.  We would love for you to join us in building community and a brighter future for all!

S Rajasekara, a hereditary priest of Chidambaram Sri Nataraja Temple, is a Vedic scholar and a Sanskrit teacher graduated from Madras Sanskrit University. He teaches Vedic mantra chanting and ritual with Siva Rathna. He is passionate about offering free Vedic education to people all over the world without discrimination for global peace and prosperity. S Rajasekara runs a free Vedic school and cow sanctuary in Tamilnadu.  He is currently working on establishing an ashram to house the elderly with his charity, Rathna Charitable Trust.

Selvaganesan is a hereditary priest of the Chidambaram Sri Nataraja Temple.  He is a graduate from SRM University in Chennai in the field of communication engineering. Selvaganesan presents lectures and leads discussions on several topics including the purpose of mantra chanting and ritual, the history and traditions of the Chidambaram Sri Nataraja Temple, and the connection between modern life and traditional practices.  His vision is to enrich the modern mind with a better understanding of culture and tradition.

Sarah has been practicing yoga on and off since her early teens.  She became serious about her practice in 2005, completing her first teacher training in 2009 and received the Yoga Alliance 500 hour registration in 2011.  In addition to hatha yoga, Sarah also teaches aerial yoga. With a deep passion for pranayama and meditation as well as asana, Sarah enjoys sharing her experiences and ongoing exploration of yoga with all levels of students.  Sarah is registered with Yoga Alliance at the E-RYT 500 level and as a Continuing Education Provider (YACEP).

Our incredible photographer, Sri S Madhu. Through the digital lens, he turns moments into masterpieces, creating impeccable visual stories that leave a lasting impression. He devotes himself into capturing our beautiful architecture and heritage. 

Cone started his yoga practice in 2012 with Sarah, completing his 200 hours yoga teacher training with her in Bali in 2014.  Cone is also trained in Latin dance and Zumba.  His love for dance made him decide to connect his ability in dancing to both Aerial and Hatha Yoga.  Cone's engaging personality makes his classes joyful and uplifting experiences.  He is currently teaching Hatha Yoga with Siva Rathna and spearheading Siva Rathna's charitable activities in the Philippines.

Paulo - a registered 200 hour yoga teacher. He started Yoga with Sarah in 2013 and completed his 200 hour YTT with Siva Rathna in 2017. His classes are a fusion of Hatha Yoga with elements of Ashtanga Vinyasa and Vinyasa Flow. He is attentive, innovative and fun. His philosophy is to share the joy of yoga so that students may explore, experience, and empower both themselves and others through Yoga practice.
