About Rudraksham

Rudraksham are the seeds of the Elaeocarpus ganitrus evergreen tree.   These trees are indigenous to the Himalayas in  India and Nepal, and are also found in areas of Southeast Asia

.
In Sanskrit the name Rudraksha means “the tears of Siva”. It is said, while contemplating the suffering of man, Siva began to cry tears of compassion. As His tears fell to Earth, He transformed them into seeds for the benefit of those seeking freedom from suffering and union with the Divine.

Rudraksham vary in faces (mukhis) from 1-23, with 5 being the most common.  The power of the seed varies in relation to its number of mukhis.  Some studies have shown that wearing Rudraksha beads can offset the effects of stress and stress related disorders, and at the same time enhance relaxation and improve concentration.  When wearing Rudraksha beads you may experience heightened energy levels, stamina, and peace of mind.
